Türkiye Celebrates Victory Day

    August 30, 2023 is the 101st anniversary of the victory of Türkiye's national liberation war. On August 30, 1922, Türkiye won the national liberation war by defeating foreign invading forces. This day of every year is not only to commemorate the decisive battle of Türkiye's independence war in 1922, but also to commemorate the founder and the first president of Türkiye, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. They lit the torch of independence 101 years ago on this day. The people of Türkiye will always be grateful to those who fought for Türkiye's freedom and sovereignty.
    On that day, the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in China held the 101st anniversary of Türkiye's Victory Day and the Armed Forces Day. Dr. Ismail Hak Musa, Türkiye's ambassador to China, and Colonel Ismith Konaglu, the military attache, delivered speeches at the event. Major General Fan Zunsheng of the Air Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army was invited to attend the reception, and officials of embassies in China, Chinese guests and citizens of Türkiye attended the reception. Ambassador Moussa shared with the guests the significance of Victory Day on August 30th during the event, He said: "August 30 is the beginning of Türkiye's national march towards a new future, and the beginning of Türkiye's national march towards a new future. One year after this victory, the Republic of Türkiye was announced. Please allow me to pay the deepest tribute to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder and commander in chief of our Republic, his comrades in arms, and all the heroes and veterans who concluded the Victory Day. We will continue to be guided by Mustafa Kemal's motto of 'domestic peace, world peace' and become a peaceful, responsible, and constructive member of the international community. Colonel Conaglu said: "August 30 is Türkiye's Victory Day and the day to celebrate Türkiye's Army Day. Over the past century, Türkiye's armed forces have become a strong and reliable partner in the region and the world by virtue of their technical foundation and practical experience in joint operations, and have made contributions to world peace.
