Structure of the voice coil

The most commonly used voice coil is with a skeleton. As shown in the reference picture, it consists of the following parts

1. Voice coil skeleton (BOBBIN). It is the skeleton that supports the coil, and usually consists of kraft paper,Aluminum, Nomex, polyimide, aluminum foil, copper foil, glass fiber, and so on.

2. Enameled wire. It is usually composed of self-melting enameled wire, such as enameled oxygen-free copper wire, copper-clad aluminum wire, and pure aluminum wire.

3. Reinforcing paper. It is used to fix the lead and enhance the rigidity of the voice coil skeleton. It usually consists of kraft paper, Xuanhua paper, Spunlace, Nomex and some special composite materials.

4. Brocade silk. It is wound by winding one or more copper alloy or silver alloy flakes, and then twisted or braided with the multiple strands, and can be added with wax, waterproof, antistatic treatment, etc. as required.
