Let's talk about the material of the magnet, mainly ferrite (black), neodymium iron boron (silver white), strontium magnet.
Ferrite: The most common and earliest known magnet, the black round magnet, is characterized by large size and low price. Ordinary ferrite magnets are generally mainly used for low-end headphones.
NdFeB: Nowadays, a very widely used magnet material has the advantage of strong magnetic force, which is 7 times that of ferrite. The disadvantage is that it is unstable and easy to demagnetize, so it cannot replace ferrite. Neodymium iron boron magnets are mainly used for high-end headphones with good sound quality. Out of the requirements of the working environment of the horn, the appropriate neodymium iron boron can be selected according to the temperature resistance. For example: N (80℃), M (100℃), H (120℃), SH (150℃), UH (180℃), EH (200℃).
Strontium magnet: It is characterized by high efficiency, but its volume is not large, so it can only be used on tweeters.
We often talk about the magnetism of the horn, which is the diameter of the magnet in the horn. For example, 100 magnet means that the diameter of the magnet is 100mm.
