Description

The damper is placed around the coil of the speaker and is attached to the speaker basket. This is one of the components that help to keep the voice coil centred in magnetic space (together with the cone) and affects the amplitude (movement).

The characteristics of the damper require.

The lateral rigidity must be balanced, and the shape of the planned corrugation must be centrally symmetrical, not soft on one side and hard on the other; 

The material must be woven cloth, and the warp and weft direction of the branch yarn must be uniform; 

It can better adhere to the up and down straight movement of the voice coil in the magnetic circuit space; it must have a certain softness, which directly affects the resonant frequency (Fo) of the horn and also affects the reliability of the horn; 

It cannot be too soft or too hard; 

In order to adhere to the excellent stability recovery force; 

It depends on the material, shape and concentration of glue;

The deeper the corrugation, the thicker the cloth and the higher the concentration of glue, the higher the resonant frequency and vice versa; 

It must not use glue to prevent brittleness and seal the hole; prevent the dust from falling into the magnetic space; 

It constitutes the vibration smoothness of the whole speaker together with the folded ring smoothness of the cone. The material, production process, shape is the decisive factor of good elastic wave.

The problem of linear displacement of the spring wave depends on the material; the force of its rebound will be different for different materials, which will have different vibrations with the motion force of the spring wave itself, thus changing the force direction of the spring wave, the phenomenon of motion blocking, and the third harmonic distortion below Fo. The reliability of the elastic wave cannot be ignored.
