The angle at which the cone is attached to the voice coil body is important. If the angle of the cone to the voice coil front body is too steep, high frequencies will be reflected back into the cone rather than into the diaphragm, resulting in poor response. The weight of the diaphragm body is also important. If it is too light, the diaphragm will distort at high sound pressure or high amplitude, causing the diaphragm to flutter. If it is too heavy, efficiency will be reduced. For a given size of diaphragm, the larger the voice coil, the greater the structural integrity of the diaphragm box, making it less likely to break. Also, if the diaphragm is deep, it is less likely to fade, bow and produce falsetto than a shallow diaphragm.
